changing real-base just works in IVM

Recently I did a post (“Changing OpenFirmware real-base”) about how-to change OpenFirmware real-base. Unfortunately this little how-to just works in Power machines (including blades) with IVM based virtualization. The Integrated Virtualization Manager (IVM) is an easy-to-use, browser-based tool which literally allows clients to point, click and consolidate multiple workloads onto one IBM Power System or other supported server.

During my day-to-day work here at LTC, I get the opportunity to work with both, IVM and HMC (sometimes more with IVM). Althought, when I was testing boot the last Fedora netinstall image on HMC, I rebased the real-base memory following my how-to and, to my surprise, it doesn’t work slice as with IVM.

I’ll investigate more and will post again when I discover a workaround.
